FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What am I responsible for supplying and what do you provide?

A: Items that we ask you to supply for your child on a daily basis or as needed are the following:

  • Diapers, wet wipes, sunscreen, and diaper rash cream.

  • 2 clean blankets (to be taken home and washed the last day of care each week)

  •  At least 2 changes of clothing that are weather-appropriate. More than 2 changes may be     necessary in cases of wet weather conditions or potty training.

For children drinking bottles, parents will be responsible for providing a clean bottle for each bottle-feeding, as well as formula and/or breast milk.

What we will provide:

  • Food Service consisting of: A nutritious morning and afternoon snack, and a balanced meal for lunch, including an offering of a glass of milk.

  • We will provide all other supplies your child will need throughout the day.
     

Q. What are your child to staff ratios?

A: The ratios determined by the Childcare Division for Certified Family Homes are 1:4 for children 6 weeks-2 years and 1:10 for children 2 years-5 years. However we will maintain child to staff ratios that are lower in order to provide the best care possible.

With a capacity for 12 children at the Wygant house and 15 and the Beech Street house, we will have 2-3 teachers working daily at each home depending on enrollment.


Q. Will my child be guaranteed enrollment in the upper classrooms?

A: Yes. If you are already enrolled in our program, you are guaranteed a space for further transitions.
 

Q. Will my child be forced to nap?

A: We will have a supervised rest or nap period for the older children. After 30 minutes of rest time, a child will be offered a quiet activity. Infants shall be allowed to form and follow their own patterns of sleeping and waking periods.


Q. Will you have field trips?

A: We are excited to organize a number of community outings. However, all excursions (except neighborhood walks and park visits) will take place outside of business operating hours.
